Why "Shattered Hourglass" and not "Kristen Ricard" Photography?
One of the biggest questions that I get is not "what color will make my eyes pop?" but, you guessed it; "why did you name your photography "Shattered Hourglass?" Well, personally I simply didn't want the name of my business to be Kristen Ricard Photoraphy KRP just doesn't flow very well. So, when I was first getting into photography in 2012. I began to experiment with the idea of Shattered Hourglass Photography.
I know, I know, it is a mouth full, for sure; but I did like the sound of it. It was unique and fun and gave me my caption "Don't let time slip away; capture the moment" for my slogan. But you are still thinking that Shattered Hourglass just seems like an odd term. Well, it is. I came up with it, because I am also a creative writer and one of my unpublished novels is "The Shattered Hourglass." It is the second book to a three book series; "The Kingdom's Key," "The Shattered Hourglass," and N/A (because I am still working on the third novel.)
I was able to come up with the name for the second book when one of my characters said; "...now the hourglass has shattered and time is slipping away, uncontained." I liked that little phrase and turned it into a title. Some day I hope to advance my small business into Shattered Hourglass Studios, a place where I can continue my creativity in photography, writing, art, and music.
